Providence Health & Services Publishes Physician Star Ratings and Patient Reviews Using Binary Star Ratings

McLean, Va., February 16, 2016Binary Fountain announced today the deployment of its Binary Star Ratings solution for providing physician star ratings and patient reviews for Providence Health & Services’ online physician profile pages. Binary Star Ratings not only creates more transparency for patients searching for verified patient reviews and ratings of physicians, but also improves online search engine rankings as the review content enhances the relevance of the physician profile pages in search engine results.

Providence is using Binary Fountain to monitor patient feedback for more than 4,000 employed physicians and publishes reviews/ratings for those physicians that have received a minimum number of survey results. Patient ratings and comments are now publicly available on Providence online physician profile pages across Washington, Oregon, Montana and California.

The star rating is generated from the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. After a visit, patients are randomly selected to participate in this survey as well as being asked to leave comments about their provider experience. The patient comments are de-identified and published in their entirety except for health-related information.
